Hover Effects – 8 Free CSS, Bootstrap & Tailwind Sets
Hover Effects is a pack of eight sets of image, card and media hover effects, designed and maintained in-house by uiCookies. Every set comes in three versions that look the same: plain HTML and CSS, Bootstrap 5.3.8 and Tailwind CSS 4. The sets cover photo zoom and pan, caption overlays, card lift, tilt and glow, image filters and clip-path reveals, frames that draw themselves, pointer-driven direction-aware and spotlight effects, a dark set and a set built on :has(), @property and container queries.
A good hover effect is a bonus, never a lock. Anything it reveals, such as a caption, a price or a synopsis, has to be reachable another way: the same state on keyboard focus, and on touch screens, which cannot hover at all, the caption shown from the start. It should move the photo inside its frame rather than resize the card, so the layout around it never jumps. And it should respect people who ask their system for reduced motion by swapping the zoom, slide or tilt for a change of colour or light, so they still see that the card responds. Every set here is built that way.
