How to use it

Download the ZIP, unzip it, and open index.html — no build step, nothing to install. Edit the text and images, point any forms at your backend or a form service, and deploy the folder to any static host. Colours and fonts live in css/style.css; the interactions are in js/main.js.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Companion template built for?

Companion is purpose-built for veterinary clinics, animal hospitals and pet-care businesses. Every section, image slot and piece of sample copy is written for that niche, from wellness exams and vaccinations to a 24/7 emergency line. It works equally well for mobile vets, groomers, boarding facilities and pet wellness services with only light copy edits.

How many pages does Companion include?

It ships with two complete, production-ready pages. The homepage covers the hero booking form, services grid, why-choose-us, the veterinary team, a how-it-works timeline, pet-care tips, testimonials, partners and an FAQ. The Services page adds detailed service breakdowns, wellness plan pricing and a full appointment booking form with validation.

Does Companion use jQuery or any heavy libraries?

No. All interactivity is written in dependency-free vanilla JavaScript, including the mobile navigation, count-up stats, testimonials slider, FAQ accordion and form validation. Only Bootstrap 5's bundled JavaScript is included, and both Bootstrap's CSS and JS are self-hosted so the template has no external script dependencies beyond Google Fonts.

Is the appointment booking form functional?

The template includes two booking forms, a compact one in the hero and a full one on the Services page, both with real client-side validation for required fields, email format and past-date prevention. They show an inline success message on submit. Because this is a static template there is no backend, so you connect the form to your own handler, email service or scheduling tool to receive submissions.

Is the template accessible and mobile-friendly?

Yes. Companion uses semantic HTML landmarks, a skip link, ARIA attributes on custom widgets, visible focus styles and full keyboard support for the slider, accordion and forms. The layout is mobile-first and fully responsive, the navigation collapses into a working mobile menu, and animations respect the prefers-reduced-motion setting.

Will content still show if JavaScript is disabled?

Absolutely. Companion is built with progressive enhancement, so all content is fully visible without JavaScript. Scroll-reveal animations are only applied under a .js class that is added at runtime, meaning text and images never get stuck at zero opacity when scripts are turned off or fail to load.

How do I change the colors and fonts?

The entire design system is driven by CSS custom properties defined at the top of css/style.css, so you can retheme the teal primary, coral accent, ink and surface colors in one place. The typography uses Fredoka for display and Nunito for body text via Google Fonts, which you can swap by editing a single font link and the two font-family variables.

Is Companion free for commercial projects?

Yes. Companion is free to use for both personal and commercial projects, including real client and business websites. You can customize the copy, colors, images and layout freely to match your practice's brand without any licensing fee.
